Classroom Coaching Consultation

What is the Purpose of Classroom Coaching Consultation?

Students spend a significant portion of their time in classrooms, where challenging behaviour most frequently arises. Consequently, it is imperative that classroom environments are structured to be proactive and preventative.

Classroom coaching is an effective way to bridge the gap between professional learning and daily practice. While many programs provide training in evidence-informed behaviour support strategies, implementation often varies across classrooms; not due to lack of effort, but due to the complexity of real-world teaching environments.

Our coaching consultation model provides in-class support for teachers and leaders to embed effective behaviour and wellbeing practices with confidence and consistency. It supports the development of positive, proactive classroom practices and empowers educators to respond to behaviour in ways that maintain connection, engagement, and learning.

This model is especially valuable for:

  • Building consistency across classrooms

  • Supporting new and early career teachers

  • Addressing challenging student behaviours in context

  • Embedding agreed-upon school-wide practices into daily instruction

  • Strengthening staff confidence and collective efficacy to support and respond to behavioural and wellbeing needs

By investing in coaching, schools move beyond one-off training and toward sustainable, system-wide improvement. This approach is instrumental in building capacity with leadership and staff to respond to students’ diverse needs. It ensures that every student, in every classroom, experiences a safe, predictable, and supportive learning environment.

Classroom Coaching Support includes:

1

Leadership Support Meetings

The purpose of leadership support meetings is to develop school leaders’ knowledge and skills to effectively support educators in implementing positive classroom practices, with a focus on aligning initiatives, and building systems that sustain these practices beyond external consultation support.

2

Educator Training

The aim is to equip educators with foundational knowledge and skills to design and implement a positive classroom support plan through structured training on effective positive classroom support practices. Each educator will engage with the content to build a personal positive classroom support plan.

3

Coaching Support and Feedback Sessions

The purpose of the coaching support is to provide each educator with targeted, practice-based feedback and individualised support to strengthen the implementation of positive classroom practices. This support that is critical for transferring new learning into sustained classroom application.
